Jobe Bellingham is set to share the England dressing room with his elder brother Jude after earning his maiden senior international call-up for the upcoming Nations League matches against Croatia and Spain. The Borussia Dortmund midfielder was included in Thomas Tuchel’s squad announced on Friday, marking another significant milestone in the 21-year-old’s rapidly progressing career.Jobe, who has represented England from the under-16 level through to the under-21s, earned his promotion to the senior squad following impressive performances for Dortmund and the Young Lions. His first call-up also sets up a special moment for the Bellingham family, with the younger sibling joining Real Madrid midfielder Jude in the national squad.England celebrated the milestone with a post on X, writing: “From our Young Lions to the Three Lions, Jobe Bellingham. Congratulations on your very first senior international call-up!”The call-up comes as a reward for Jobe’s progress since joining Borussia Dortmund, where he has continued to establish himself after moving from Sunderland. His inclusion alongside Jude offers the brothers an opportunity to play together at senior international level.

Palmer misses out again as Tuchel makes changes

While Jobe’s inclusion made headlines, Chelsea attacking midfielder Cole Palmer was among the notable omissions from Tuchel’s squad. The 24-year-old was recalled for last month’s international fixtures but withdrew after experiencing discomfort, having previously missed England’s September camp because of a muscle injury.Palmer’s latest absence comes despite a productive start to the season for Chelsea, with five goals and three assists in 11 appearances across all competitions.Tuchel had expressed frustration over the midfielder’s repeated injury-related withdrawals following the September camp.“It’s another missed opportunity. He misses too many opportunities,” Tuchel had said at the time. “I don’t blame him for it, it’s just a fact. He misses way too many camps with injuries.”The German had also stressed the importance of having players available during international camps, saying: “He misses way too many camps with injuries, and I only want to rely on what I witness and see within in my team, and for that you have to be in camp.”Manchester City forward Phil Foden was another notable absentee, having continued to be overlooked after missing out on the World Cup squad.Fulham attacking midfielder Josh King also earned his first senior England call-up after previously joining the national side’s pre-World Cup training camp in Florida.
