A good home is not only about luxury. It is about comfort, memories, and a little personality. Especially when it comes to sports personalities and athletes, we would imagine their homes to stand out and be based on sporty themes.Recently, filmmaker Farah Khan has stepped inside Badminton champion PV Sindhu’s home for her YouTube series, along with her cook, Dilip.Sindhu, a two-time Olympic medallist, has given Indian fans many proud moments and off the court, she has built a life in Bengaluru with her husband, Venkata Datta Sai, whom she married in Udaipur on 22 December 2024.Farah Khan’s visit began at a large wooden front door, where Sindhu, her husband and their pet dog greeted the guests. The hallway beyond is warm and personal, with paintings, indoor plants and rugs adding colour. One side holds a black-and-white gallery wall of framed photographs and displays big moments from Sindhu’s badminton career, along with a picture from her wedding day. It feels less like a passage and more like a small museum of her life. Other tiny details also add to the warmth and complete the look of her home.

Here is a peek into her abode and the decor inspiration you can steal

Boho-styled soft, pastel living room

The hallway opens into a bright, open living room, wrapped in floor-to-ceiling windows and finished in a soft pastel palette. Natural light fills the space, which blends plush pastel green sofas lined with a cosy contrasting coloured throw, and embroidered cushions to sit around.Instead of crowding the room with decor, the design lets just a few special pieces stand out, including the asymmetrical warm lighting vertical lamp that adds to the right light in the room.

A chessboard from the Mahabharata

The showstopper is a glass-and-marble chessboard with the Pandavas and Kauravas as its pieces. Carved scenes from the Mahabharata decorate the two-storey board, so each game feels like a small retelling of the epic.In a room set in modernity, this piece adds a traditional touch and gives guests something to talk about. It makes the house feel personal, not like a showroom.ID@undefined Caption not available.ID@undefined Caption not available.

Dining area and modular kitchen

Next to the living room is a dining area with a wooden table and matching chairs set in dark wood and contrasting lighter brown foamy seats that sit close to the kitchen, which is modular and has white marble touches on the counter.

Poolside garden and seating

The dining area overlooks the private swimming pool and garden through the sheer curtains that line the walls, so greenery stays in view from the table. Outside, grey sofas and a centre table make a relaxed corner for lounging by the pool. The plants also add a green touch by the glass, marble, and polished furniture indoors, linking the house with the outdoors.
